{Real Parties} Patriotic 4th of July Breakfast

Share To:

Sarah from Sheek Shindigs shared her 4th of July Breakfast with us, and we hope it inspires you for the upcoming holiday!  Here is what Sarah had to say:

Start off your 4th of July festivities with a fun, patriotic breakfast! I wanted to create a July 4th “party” set-up to inspire my readers and to celebrate the upcoming holiday with my kiddos as well. My family is a huge fan of breakfast, so I decided to create a 4th of July Breakfast Celebration that was budget friendly, easy to re-create, and fun for everyone to enjoy. We love eating breakfast out on our deck, so I decided that would be the perfect place to set up our celebration.

My Red, White, and {Polka Dotted} Blue Breakfast table was created using items that I already had at home (small blue-rimmed plates, white milk glasses, red ribbon, red and white striped napkins, blue polka dotted fabric, a white and blue striped pitcher) and some inexpensive extras (white and blue striped straws, marching children cupcake wrappers, fun candles). Then I dressed up some of my kiddos favorite breakfast foods with a little red, white, and blue flair to turn them into the stars of this patriotic breakfast party.

For the table, I used blue and white polka dot fabric that I already had (from my son’s pirate themed party last fall) to make placemats and beverage towels. I used small canning jars dressed up with star wire garland (bought at my local craft store for $1.49) for vases at each place setting and used freshly cut  hydrangeas from my garden to dress up the table.

Breakfast featured homemade blueberry muffins with a dollop ofwhipped cream on top, cinnamon buns sprinkled with red, white, and blue, a patriotic fruit and yogurt parfait, mini waffles, and fresh fruit. I added candles to the muffins and cinnamon buns for a little something “extra” that reflected the spirit of the 4th!

I made kid-friendly “sparklers” for the kids to play with using a wooden dial-rod, ribbon, and some red, white, and blue star wire garland.  A tutorial for the sparklers can be found here.

I also used a decorative metal flag as a photo backdrop at the celebration.

Sarah! Thank you for sharing your party with us and getting us excited for the upcoming holiday!
