Stunning Ice Cream Birthday Party :: Party Inspiration

Share To:

It’s Ice Cream Week at The TomKat Studio and we have some fabulous ice cream parties and ideas to share with you! You’ll be melting over this first party. I have been blogging for about three and a half years and I can’t even begin to tell you how amazed I am with how amazing children’s parties have become over the years. Everyday I see the talent of so many creative mommas. It’s not about spending lavishly, it’s about getting creative and paying attention to the details. When I spotted this absolutely gorgeous Ice Cream Birthday Party on Facebook, my jaw dropped! Every detail is stunning! Styled by the amazingly talented Leoni Jena of Just Call Me Martha…I just know you are going to love it!

From Leoni: The ice cream party inspiration came after I was asked to make an “ice cream” cake for one of the designers at Kikki K and I fell in love with all the gorgeous pastel colours. Immediately my head was spinning with ideas. I knew Annike, my daughter, loved ice cream and that we would have real ice cream at the party as well as ice cream related activities (they made ice cream out of fabric, cotton wool and paint on mini canvases). But I also knew that realistically we could not have ice cream on the dessert table as it would all melt. So instead I brainstormed and created a menu of items that would fit into the sundae theme. Some of the food items we had was choc pops (white chocolate melts flavoured with raspberry, caramel or vanilla candy oil then tinted in the pastel colours, poured into an icy pole chocolate mould and left to set), ice cream pops (cake balls dipped in pastel white chocolate then placed onto mini ice cream cones), ice cream cookies, ice cream sundae cupcakes, mini strawberry mousse, mini milkshakes (each glass rim was dipped in white chocolate then dipped in sprinkles), mini popcorn served in striped ice cream cups, fruit cones (fresh strawberries, grapes and water melon served in white paper cones) and macarons (lemon and strawberry). The cake was a 2 tier lemon and raspberry buttercake filled with raspberry buttercream, the ice cream topper inspired by the Sundae collection. Each child went home with a party box filled with ice cream pencil, ice cream note pad, icy pole eraser, bag of ice cream lollies and icy pole soapcicle.

such a great idea. not using ice cream in the cake was such a smart idea. the last time i saw an ice cream cake it made a total mess

  8. Absolutely stunning!! The details are SO adorable. The mini milkshakes with sprinkles on the glass rims (LOVE!), the chocolate spoons with sprinkles, (such a cute added detail), the cake (WOW!), the “choc pops” (brilliant), ice cream cone cookies (adorable!), ice cream cone cupcakes with the sweet fondant “cherry-on-top”…it’s all totally cute. The presentation using the ice cream cart tied it all together. Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. (and I love the term “icy pop”…I finally figured out it’s the same thing as a popsicle.) *blushing*

  9. Absolutely exceptional, in every detail! But my favorite element has to be that cake. The topper, the colors, the exceptionally clean fondant work…awesome!
