How to Make an Outdoor Chandelier :: HGTV Feature

Share To:

One of my latest projects for HGTV was to create a chandelier to be hung outdoors. When I was offered the assignment, it made me a little nervous because I rarely “build” things.  I knew it would be a bit of a challenge since it was outside my norm of styling parties and dessert tables, but I also thought it would be quite fun to venture around the hardware store and come up with some ideas. I *almost* called in help from my fabulous friend, Shelley from The House of Smiths (who seems to be holding a tool at least once a week on her blog), but I decided to go for it on my own. After a few attempted chandelier ideas and many trips to Home Depot, I came up with something super simple, yet super cute!

Love this Kim….really nice job. I could also see coffee beans used for the filler.

Also, love the new splash page on your web site…..very cool!

  3. Marvelous! Have you caught the building bug yet? It’s really not as hard as it seems at first, and it’s so much fun to be able to create the ideas that you have that you just can’t buy!

  4. Cute!! You could even change the “filler” to suit the seasons!

    I love it! 🙂
