The entry of a home is where people truly feel welcomed. It’s a place to not only store your belongings, but to greet family and friends and share your personality with artwork you love.

And of course, since Kim is decorating her lovely new home in Flagstaff, we can’t help but give her a little inspiration to warm her home with beautiful furniture and accessories.

So how do you build a pretty and functional entryway?

TKLight&Rug - Neutrals

Add light fixtures that make a statement.
Pass on standard lighting, and illuminate your entryway with a unique fixture. Keeping cabins in mind, I recommend choosing a piece that contains metal, wood or a combination of the two because metal creates a rustic, sophisticated feel while reclaimed wood adds warmth. You can’t go wrong with either.

Warm the space with a cozy rug.
Combine neutral colors like shades of creams and browns with lovely patterns and prints to create a welcoming entryway. Make sure to test your style by trying out a few rugs before making your final decision. You may be surprised about the rug you select for your cabin retreat.

TKpillow&acc - neutrals

Add comfort with fluffy pillows.
Your entry is sure to have a bench or hall tree, so be sure to make it a cozy place with a variety of pillows – it’s the first place that welcomes you after all. If you enjoy simple pieces, you can never go wrong with classic stripes. You can also add some character by sourcing out at least one pillow with an unexpected print.

Incorporate favorite pieces of artwork and accessories.
Add the final touches with fun accessories. It’s the perfect opportunity to add a pop of color and truly make it feel like home. When selecting pieces to include, a good tip to keep in mind is that pretty and functional pieces will make life easier.
