Before we sold our last house, we had the opportunity to style it for a Holiday Home Tour for HGTV! I am so excited to share all the details with you. I love absolutely love decorating for the holidays…it truly something I look forward to every year. I love pulling out treasures from years past and mixing them with new decor finds. My family enjoys helping get the house ready for Christmas and we all get sad when it’s time to take it down at the end of the season. It was so much fun getting this house dressed up for the holidays and so exciting to have it featured on HGTV. So… grab a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, relax and enjoy the tour!

the_tomkat_studio_holiday_home_tour_2My signature style is definitely a mix of farmhouse and modern, with black, white and neutrals as a base for each room. I love how natural accents combined with a black and white palette turn a room into a cozy and elegant setting. The fireplace in the living room serves as the perfect focal point for holiday gatherings. Snow-flocked garland lines the mantel, along with photo stocking holders and simple white fur stockings for each of us.

Snow-flocked trees are a huge trend right now and I absolutely love them! I topped with white, clear and natural colored ornaments for a simple look. The tree fills the corner of the room beautifully.

I added cozy pillows and blankets to the sofas to create an inviting spot for relaxing and opening gifts on Christmas morning. My friend, Kendra of Linen and Ivory designs the most gorgoeus holiday pillows and I sprinkled them around the house.

This darling St. Nick standing in front of my favorite feathery white trees is another example of how nature mixed with old-fashioned farmhouse accents can be truly elegant.

I love hosting holiday gatherings! I spruced up the dining room with greenery, festive tableware and serving essentials to be ready to host at a moment’s notice.

The faux greenery garlands add such a gorgeous element to the wood and metal chandelier. Click here for more ideas for dressing a light fixture for the holidays.  The furry white tree centerpiece adds texture and charm to the tablescape.

I added printable greeting labels at each place setting for the perfect no-fuss finishing touch. Click here to download the free labels for your table.

The kitchen is the hub of the home, so it deserves some special holiday love too. I started by adding 3D snowflakes to the chandelier to create a sparkly winter scene.  So pretty!

A holiday vignette in the center of the island adds a touch of whimsy. How cute is that furry friend?

You all probably know already how much I love the open shelving concept and I had so much fun styling these for Christmas, adding a wood advent calendar, graphic print, greenery and other holiday touches. Cute, cute!

Doesn’t this cute corner of the kitchen look like the perfect place for baking Christmas cookies?

With a few simple holiday decor additions, the kitchen table is the perfect spot to host our annual Christmas breakfast.

Special touches, like the glittered tree centerpiece, metal snowflakes and linen napkins tied with velvet ribbon add the perfect holiday feel to this place setting.

Along with holiday hosting comes getting ready for guests. Delight your family and friends with simple holiday decor in the guest bathroom.

Pine trees are a holiday must-have in any room, and a small potted version is perfect for countertops. Add a holiday hand towel and a few other holiday decor elements and your bathroom will be guest ready!

The holiday decor doesn’t end downstairs. With a few simple additions, I added holiday cheer in the master bedroom. I cozied up the room by adding a small tree in the corner, simply decorated with white ornaments.

The furry pom-pom garland draped on the headboard adds such a joyful touch. Black and white buffalo check pillows along with the deer pillow are perfect cozy winter accents.

I swapped out the existing art prints on our bedside tables for new ones I designed with the holidays in mind. The sayings “have yourself a merry little Christmas” and “meet me under the mistletoe” add a fun element to the space. Click on the sayings to download and print
