{202 Magazine} Glam Camping Collection!

Share To:

A couple of months ago, I was asked to style the set for photo shoot by Laura Winslow Photography for Oh Fiddlesticks clothing company. When Laura mentioned the theme for the shoot, “Glamping” aka “Glam Camping”, I knew this was going to be a fun one! Since I am definitely more of an “indoor girl” {quoting my fave movie}, taking this camping theme glam was quite fitting. The photos have now been featured in the debut issue of 202 Magazine! I was asked to write an article and tips for hosting  this type of soiree for the publication.

I am so excited to finally be able to show you all of the gorgeous photos that Laura captured! I have to say that this is one of my favorite photo shoots that we have collaborated on! It could be because of the striking color palette of mustard and plum, or maybe it was the amazing old wagon, or maybe because my sweet Kate was one of the models! Whatever it was, it was a fun-filled, magical afternoon!

The shoot took place at the incredible estate belonging to a local family. This was the same location we used for our Alice in Wonderland photo shoot. I was so excited when I arrived to see this amazing old wagon that I could use as my dessert “table”. I was so busy when this shoot was happening, that there wasn’t really a plan in my head. I just filled my SUV with anything and everything that could possibly relate to the colors/style of the shoot and went from there. Between Laura and I’s home decor, serving pieces, pillows, and props….it all came together beautifully.

My little sweetie, Kate was one of the models for the shoot and I absolutely LOVE the silhouette tee that the Oh Fiddlesticks girls created especially for her! It is now available in their shop! Her headband by Georgia Blue was the perfect accessory!

My crystal chandelier cupcake holder from HomeGoods made another appearance and added a glam touch against the grass/dirt on the wagon!  I created several printable designs for the shoot including party circles that I used for cupcake toppers. I also tied the circles with yarn to mason jars filled with sunflowers {my fave}.

Happy Camping was a perfect saying for one of the cupcake topper designs! I also designed a photo invitation to go along with the theme.

I created a smores bar and arranged graham crackers, various types of chocolate and a few candy apples on one of my cake stands. Hot chocolate with marshmallows is an absolute must for a camping party!

Cupcake Delights in Florida {she ships!} offered to send me a box of sample cupcakes and they happened to arrive the day before the shoot! The fun variety was perfect for this party scene. I topped with my printable party circle designs! I was so excited to be able to use the white butterfly net from Ikea that I had purchased awhile ago and never used! It was a gorgeous backdrop hanging from the tree.

My apothecary jars are always fun to use for parties and shoots. When they aren’t busy at work, they rest on my kitchen island! Since it was fall, my jars were already filled with pinecones, apples and twig balls which went perfectly with this outdoor theme! The wrought iron two-tiered basket hangs in my powder room on a normal day. For the shoot, the baskets were filled with cookie favors {presented in cd envelopes and tied with yard} and marshmallows for the smores bar.

Beverages on the table included mugs of hot chocolate with marshmallows, yellow izze sodas, ice water in mason jars tied with yarn and party circles, along with straws and simple striped paper flags.

Kate couldn’t resist the goodies on the wagon {just like mommy}. We let the kids enjoy the treats after the shoot ended.

The models were absolutely adorable. I love this CUP+CAKE tee by Oh Fiddlesticks and flower headband by Dolce Vita Mia.

Yes, there was even a pony at the estate that willingly posed with our little models! This COW+GIRL tee is very special, as it is how I discovered Oh Fiddlesticks! One of my favorite customers bought it for her daughter’s Vintage Cowgirl party and then the Oh Fiddlesticks girls and I connected! It was so fantastic when they asked Laura to do a shoot for them and I was thrilled to be involved!

Isn’t her hat so unique and cute? It’s a GracyLu Original! Her adorable skirt is by La Tee Da Kids, who I have been wanting to collaborate with for awhile! We had some fabulous ladies helping us at the shoot including Grace from Finley & Oliver, Katie from Vintage Rose Wraps and my babysitters, Carly & Cassie.
