F.A.Q.

ORDERING

How does this work once I order?
Once your order is placed and payment has been received, we begin customizing your products. Once finished, a PDF file will be emailed to you for printing. You can print at home or send it to a print shop. You then cut and assemble (if necessary) from home. Very simple!

Are you taking custom orders?
Custom order availability is done on a discretionary basis and depends on Kim’s availability, the type of design requested, and the volume of custom orders we currently have open. Please don’t hesitate to inquire!

What is your turn-around time?
Typically our it’s 3 business days.

Do you send proofs?
Due to the volume of orders we receive, we do not provide proofs for every order. All files are sent ready to print- this saves time not only for us, but for you as well! But we do work closely with you to make sure your items come out exactly as you want.

Can I edit the products once I order them?
No. All of our products are copyrighted and cannot be altered except through TKS.

What if I need to make a change to the text of my file?
Any errors or typos made by us will be corrected and back to you as quickly as possible. Otherwise, we allow one text change once the final file has been sent, and those will be sent within one business day of the request.

How do I know what file type to choose for your invitations?
Choose JPG if you plan to print them out individually at a photo processing facility. Choose PDF if you plan to print at home or at a print shop. Our files are formatted for 8.5×11 paper.

Do you ever print/assemble the orders and mail them out?
Nope. Everything is emailed out as an electronic file.

Can you customize the colors of a product I purchase from your shop?
Most of the time. There will be an extra custom change fee (beginning at $7). Just convo/email us for your specific needs and we will give you a quote!

I need this for a party tomorrow! Can I place a rush order?
We will try our hardest to accommodate you whenever possible. Email Toni@thetomkatstudio.com with your specific needs and we will see what we can do. There is a $10 fee for all rush orders and are only available on our existing designs, not custom orders.

Can I have text added to the fancy labels?
Yes. The charge is $7 for the first sheet of four labels, and $2 per label thereafter.

PAPER

What is the best type of paper to use for your products?
We recommend using heavy weight matte photo paper or bright white card stock.

PRINTING

What type of printer do you use?
We recommend using photo inkjet printers when printing at home. Kim uses a Canon Pixma Pro 9000.

Should I print these myself or send them to a printer?
Whichever you prefer. You could print one out at home and if you aren’t satisfied with how it turns out, you can take them to a print shop such as Staples or Kinkos.

The colors look different on paper than they do on the computer screen. Can you adjust the colors?
Because the colors on our files do not change from order to order, this is likely a printer issue. We recommend that you check the ink cartridges to see if they need replacement or adjust the intensity settings on your printer. Generally, this always solves the problem! If not, there will be a custom color charge.

ASSEMBLING

What type of punch do I use for the custom party circles?
You need a 2″ punch. We sell four different punches in our shop here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/tomkatstudio?section_id=10237093

Where can I get a 4” circle cutter?
In our shop! You can find those here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/83582955/circle-cutter-party-and-craft-supplies

How do I make the cupcake toppers?
Use 4″ lollipop sticks, bought at your local craft store (and Walmart too!). After you have punched out your party circles, attach them to the sticks with a small piece of tape or 1″ round white labels for a polished look!

MISCELLANEOUS

Do you work regular business hours?
All of us are work-at-home moms, so our hours are highly irregular. Don’t be surprised if you hear from us after 5 p.m., on weekends, or even the middle of the night! We love what we do and we love our customers, and we work hard to make sure that everyone is satisfied with our products, timing and service.

Can I submit my party pictures to be features on The TomKat Studio blog?
Of course you can! However, we cannot feature each and every party that is submitted to us. Please email us 4-5 party pictures, details of your event, and any DIY details to Toni@thetomkatstudio.com. Also, let us know if your party has been featured on any other blogs or websites. If we decide that we are going to feature your party, we will notify you.
