Holly Becker is one of the most inspirational bloggers that I follow. Her blog, Decor8 is one of the very first blogs that I started following when I discovered the blogging world in late 2008. Not only is Decor8 filled with gorgeous home decorating inspiration, but Holly shares her own lovely photography, beautiful styling, and incredible advice. She highlights shops, designers and photographers. She tells her own story within her posts which makes her readers feel incredibly connected to her.
Holly recently launched her first book, along with lifestyle writer, Joanna Copestick titled Decorate: 1,000 Design Ideas for Every Room in Your Home. What an amazing milestone! As a fellow blogger with big dreams, I couldn’t be happier for her reaching this goal. Holly recently sent me a copy of the book and I have really enjoyed browsing through every page. The book is filled with inspiration on new ways to transform your home, including contributions and quotes from favorite designers like Nate Berkus, Amy Butler, Amy Atlas and more. The photography by Debi Treloar is absolutely stunning.

I have always loved decorating with seafoam green!
Have been eyeing this book for a few weeks now. WOuld love a copy. We are moving to a new house and I want to start fresh and use only things that make me happy! I just saw her in a magazine I was browsing through in Barnes & Noble! I would LOVE to win her book! I so could use the help w/my ENTIRE house. No joke. I love the color combo turquoise & red. Orange & Pink too! In our master is blues, greens, browns. But I want to change it up for creams, pinks, turquoise: shabby beachy cottage colors!

I think my husband would say, “baby blue” because there are maaany different shades of blue in our house. Lately I have been loving the yellow/gray trend!

I am really loving the cream monotones that I see in all the magazines, trying to get up the courage to paint our house in them next month but still searching for that one perfect color for the interior of the house since we have an “open floor” plan.

decor8 was one of the first blogs I started following, too! LOVE her stuff! I didn’t choose it on purpose, but found myself decorating with pops of red. Not overdone…just accents 🙂
My most recent fav is lime – I used it in my gender neutral nursery for my 3rd child. It’s all black, white and lime green. When the baby arrived and was a girl, I added girly touches like zebra. What an amazing book – I’d love to win! 🙂

Unfortunately, my hubby hates teal! If not, my entire house would be covered in it. Instead, I’ve been using a lot oranges.
Blue, especially muddy, gray blues (like Pratt & Lambert’s Argent). I have splashes of it though out my house!
In the main area of my house we have “Rainwashed” blue walls with neutral furniture. I like the Calm of the blue shades. I also like the gray and yellow trend going on but have not used it yet.

If I had to pick ONE color, I would say blue! I find it calming, stimulating, fun, and grown-up all at the same time. Our house is anything but boring, but blue features heavily…we have a blue sofa, blue decorative accents, a caribbean blue foyer, a turquoise kitchen, and a sky blue bedroom. Just lovely.

Sounds so boring but I love taupe and brown.
I don’t think I have any one colour I like. I also get bored with colours and look for more exciting ones. Right now I’m loving the “guacamole” on my bedroom walls. It looks so great with the dark wood furniture. I wanted to add a white duvet but alas, white just isn’t the colour for my hubby!

I always love decorating with hughes of RED. Just a small splash here or there can really add depth to a room. Or the darker variety can warm up a room for the colder months without having to splurge on a complete overhaul. Come summer – it’s back to bright reds and crisp whites.

I love to decorate in black and white as it never gets old and always stays classy and fresh. Lately, I’ve been really into grey. I would love to win a copy of the book to help me to improve my decorating skills further.
I am loving green right now. I’m actually painting my bathroom this beautiful shade of olive green. Something about the colors I’ve been choosing, including steel grey for my living room and blush for my bedroom give me a real exotic feeling. My favourite colour at the moment is light-medium grey. To me it is a calming neutral colour that can be contrasted with yellow, or cobalt blue or red during the changing seasons.

I love using a kelly/shamrock green. I think its one of the most versatile colors! You can make it fancy with black and damask prints, or you can make it fun with a bubblegum pink or a blue! gorgeous!

Being that it’s so bold I like that there are many other colors to add to it without making it look cluttered such as black white and even browns!
