Our sweet little girl turned four a couple of weeks ago! We celebrated with a Barbie in Paris inspired party with all of her little friends. Kate has been really into the Barbie movies lately and had trouble deciding whether she wanted a Fashion Fairytale or a Mermaid Tale theme for her big day. She decided on the fashion theme and would get so excited every time she would see an Eiffel Tower on anything. We went with the traditional light pink, black and white color scheme {love it}. Vicki from Vicki Lynn Photography was on hand to capture every detail! When thinking about what she would wear, I immediately thought of the silhouette shirt by Oh Fiddlesticks that she modeled in our Glam Camping shoot. I called Melissa and asked if she could create the shirt in our colors and allow me to use their silhouette graphic in my designs. She jumped on it and made the most adorable version in pink, black and white! Kate wore a gorgeous pink pettiskirt from Pink Taffy Designs with the shirt, along with a special tiara that I picked up at the Believe Boutique.

Guests were greeted at the door by this lovely Barbie print by Robert Best {I won it from Layla Grayce last year!} framed in a gorgeous frame by The Vintage Crush and topped with a pink rose flower ball from HomeGoods.
I designed all of the paper goods using the girl silhouette, along with bows, stripes and dots. I borrowed dress forms from Heather and Lindsay, and dressed them up in pink! The adorable tutu was Kate’s very first tutu that my sister-in-law bought her before she was born. I fell in love with the vintage Eiffel Tower tags on Etsy and had to have them.
Each girl was given a tutu made by Tiny Belles Boutique, a hair accessory by Banner Boutique and a necklace to wear. Before they were escorted upstairs for a mini makeover, they all checked out the dessert table set up in our front room.
I finally found a piece of furniture to fit on the wall in front of our staircase and it worked perfectly to display all of the delicious desserts! It’s also the perfect piece to store my collection of cake stands and platters!
One of my favorite elements of the dessert table was this beautiful pink Barbie cake that was created by Melissa from Decadent Delights. Inspired by the doll cakes that my mom made for my parties when I was little, it was so fun to see an updated version come to life! This Barbie was a replica of the 1977 {my birth year} doll that I bought and put away when it was being sold for Barbie’s 50th Birthday! Melissa used fondant for the bodice of the dress and butter cream to make the swirls. She topped with rhinestones and edible glitter, which was so sparkly and gorgeous in person!
Charynn from Two Sugar Babies recently created these fondant cupcake toppers in various colors and our contributor, Tanya shared them with me right before the party. I had to have them! She was able to ship some off quickly for the party! They looked divine tucked in black polka dot wrappers from Bella Cupcake Couture.
I asked Angela from Queen of Tarts to create edible image cookies using the silhouette graphic. They turned out adorable and each girl was given one in their favor bags! She also made some of her gorgeous cameo cupcake toppers, perfect for this theme!
What would a dessert table be without custom chocolate covered Oreos from Sweeties? Kim supplied oreos for Kate’s Fairy Party last year and has now since been seen on dessert tables everywhere! She is such a kind person and I am so proud of her success.
I met Terri of Terri’s Treasures at the Martha Dreamers event and have been waiting for a good time to try out her products! She created perfect pink & black cake balls on black/white striped straws {adorable} along with custom silhouette cake pops! {can you believe how detailed they are?!} They were not only adorable, but seriously delicious. I hid some chocolate ones during the party so I could eat them later.
We have been working with Bundles of Cookies and these cookies blew me away when I opened the package. Look at the detail in the dress cookies! I adore the swirls! They were a hit at the party.
I spotted these black and white striped cupcake cups on Shop Sweet Lulu and immediately ordered them. You can actually bake right in them {awesome}! You can’t have a Paris themed party without French macarons! These were shipped in by Crazy about Macarons. It’s hard to ship these little bites of sweetness, but they arrived beautifully and tasted delicious.
I created new printable designs for cupcake toppers, fancy labels and favor tags for this theme. {coming soon to the shop!}
My friend, Vana at Le Papier Studio whipped up this adorable print for me to display at the party. It was created from an actual picture of Kate in her pettiskirt! It will be such a cute keepsake to have from the party! The tulle pom wands were made by Adisten’s Closet, along with hanging tulle pom poms!
The girls were treated to a mini-makeover including hair styling and a little makeup by our lovely helpers, Courtney, Caitlin, Carly & Cassie! My helpers wore silhouette shirts by Oh Fiddlesticks to match the birthday girl!
We set up a runway outside in the backyard for the girls to do a little fashion show for all of the moms. {no boys allowed at this party!} I made topiaries for the end of the aisle using pink buckets, wood dowels and lanterns from Polka Dot Market. I hung the pink tulle poms from Adisten’s Closet along with white paper medallions from Polka Dot Market in the trees.
My friend, Kristy Kay {former Fiesta Bowl Queen} gave our little guests a lesson on walking the catwalk! It was so adorable. After a practice run, we brought all of the moms out to give them a little show! Here are a few of the girls on the runway!
After the fashion show, the girls came in for snacks and to sing Happy Birthday to sweet Kate! I love this photo!
Then it was time to indulge all of the delicious sweets! It was hard to cut the cake because it was so beautiful!
Kate received so many beautiful gifts. This adorable jewelry box matched the party perfectly!
I found the perfect favor boxes in the dollar section at Target and filled them with hair bows custom made for the party by Banner Boutique, a necklace and cookie!
Each guest had her headshot taken and I plan on sending them a copy with the thank you notes!
It’s was such a fun, girly party!
Thank you to all of the fabulous vendors who were involved and especially to my lovely friend, Vicki for capturing these beautiful memories!

Oh my gosh Kim!!! You are a party goddess. I’ve been working for the last two days on my sons’ train birthday and seriously I didn’t do a tenth of the work you’ve done for this amazing party!!! I am just blown away by the amount of work you do and how amazing it ends up…it’s all worth it! She must have felt like such a princess. I hope she never forgets this party (although I’m sure with all the amazing ones you do she has a lot of awesome parties to remember!)
SO, SO cute!! I am totally loving the pink and black paris theme lately and I can’t wait to use the printables for a baby shower or my little girl’s birthday party! Thanks so much for ALL the inspiration! XOXO

hi I would like to know if you know where cand I find a picture of the shadow girl so I may make a cookie cutter?
Ahh! Adorable! I just redid my daughters bedroom with a vintage Barbie theme. I am dying to know if you have the Silhouette Jewelry box design? It would match so well!!! Let me know how I can get it.
Thanks bunches!
Hi Kim! My friend found it at HomeGoods!
Kim this is SO lovely! Thanks for sending me the link so I could see my Paris tags on display! What a gorgeous party it must have been!!
My youngest daughter loves the Barbie movies adn this party is beautiful, not a hint of Barbie pink in sight! The girls look like they had so much fun, being catwalk models and the decorations and party favours are simply gorgeous.
I love everything about this party!!! Now I just need a daughter to plan it for! Where did you find the miniature dress forms? They are a perfect accessory!
Amazing theme, beautiful day and the luckiest girls in the world! Thanks for even MORE inspiration, Kim!
So elegant, for such sweet lil girls!! One of the parties of my “DREAM” list of parties to design.
You are just as sweet & gracious as you are talented Kim! GREAT role model for us “up & coming” designers <3
A belated Happy Birthday to Kate! Mama threw a fabulous party!
Oh my goodness, Kim, this might just be my favorite party yet!! Being that I’ll be 28 in a few weeks and *still* love to play Barbies (I jump at the chance whenever Leila asks!) this is so right up my alley! The day of Leila’s Alice in Wonderland party this year, she said she wanted a “fashion girl” party instead. I’m thinking we might have to copy Kate’s party for Leila’s 5th next year! XO!
….and happy belated birthday to Kate! She is just as precious as can be!
This looks so fun! The details are amazing, but I have to say the idea of the runway show is awesome! And having thier pictures taken as they strut thier new dos!! love it!
WOW! over the top
You did an amazing job on this party, but I really need to know..

love.love.love.
I found it at a local furniture store, Razmataz!
Oh wow!!! I have been out of town and anxiously WAITING to get to a computer so that I could see this post! It was worth the wait! This party was absolutely spectacular! I LOVE the black and white color scheme accented with light pink. It exudes such sophistication with such a youthful femininity. That Barbie cake is amazing! Great job, Kim, once again!!
Soooo incredibly darling! I think next year I’ll just hand our girls’ party off to you!! Can you make it to So Cal in Feb/March??
Wow Kim.. just getting a chance to see this party fully. It’s seriously BEAUTIFUL and LOVELY and makes me wish my little girl was young again
XO

Hi Kim, love the party. I’m throwing my daughter Kate a Summer in Paris party on July 24th. She’ll be nine. She is obsessed with all things Paris.
I really love the silhouette of Kate in Paris with the poodle & Eiffel tower. Do you have a better photo of that. I would really love to print one for my daughters Bd if you wouldn’t mind. Thanks so much for the beautiful party ideas.
Hi Jennifer! The print is from Le Papier Studio. I’m sure you could order a print from her!
Hi Kim! Gorgeous party! What Barbie did you use for the cake?
I have been trying to find those adorable dress forms everywhere! Any idea where your girlfriends got them from? Adorable party!!
Hi Alana!
Hobby Lobby always seems to have those dress forms! Also, Pier One has a small black one that is really cute! Hope this helps!
Kim
Just what I was looking for … It’s amazing, my daughter will be delighted … The idea of tutus is perfect … Thanks for the idea…Greetings from Canary Islands!
Hello Kim!
I’m Aries from Malaysia. OMG, your little girl party is so adorable & cute. This is a 1st time, I saw a perfect party for a little girl. It’s really awesome…. =)
This is a beautiful party! I love all the details! I am using this as a reference to decorate my daughter’s new bedroom.
Thanks!
Nice theme but really over the top for a 4-year old party. I imagine this soiree cost a mint with all the catered specially designed treats, invitations, and decorations. Would a 4-year old even remember all the expense going into this function or is it more for the adults to ooh and ah over? Everything here was made by some company. This has such a Martha Stewart flair attached to it that it detracts from the real purpose, which is it for the children. Kids want to run and play at this age not have hair and makeup applied, which should be dedicated to older children. The only good this serves is providing ideas, but honestly this looked like money wasted. Kids at this age could care a less about that stuff. You could make your own cupcakes and buy a doll cake from the grocery store, a few party favors, and play some games at more than 1/2 the cost. I can guarantee you that none of the perfectly matched plates, icing swirls, fancy invitations, and decorations matters to a kid and is geared toward adulation to the host/hostess.
Love all the details especially the colors. A friend of mine is pregnant with her first baby girl and I’m honored to help plan her shower, her only request was that colors be black, white and pink and modern.
Think this party could be modified if the silhouette was of a baby carriage or contemporary crib. Love the stripes. Great inspiration
I love the idea and I absolutely LOVE the Eiffel Tower cookies:)
i’ve been browsing the web for several days looking for a BARBIE inspired party but nothing beats your creativity and idea. I wish I could also get the printables for this one. How can I get it?:)
This is a beautiful party! I love all the details! .
Lovely party indeed!
May I ask where you found the tin boxes in the 3rd picture? The ones with the crystal knobs. Did they hold favors?
Beautiful design ..great work you are inspiring me to do something like this for my daughters 3rd bday..
maria

Hi Kim,
Your creations are awesome! I’m blown away at all your creativity!
such a beautiful birthday party for your little girl! and, i love your buffet table! do you know the manufacturer? i’m looking for something very similar — with ample storage. thanks!!
Have you considered using glass straws? They’re super classy and toxin free. I’ve seen a few brands out there. my favorite is simply straws, i love the travel case each straw comes with http://bit.ly/simplystraws
