Nautical Baby Shower for Pottery Barn Kids :: The TomKat Studio

I am thrilled to share one of our latest projects for Pottery Barn Kids! This Nautical Baby Shower is definitely one of my favorite themes that we have created and styled for Pottery Barn Kids. This is a perfect theme for a summer baby shower, bridal shower or birthday party. I adore the yellow and navy color combination and preppy details. Check out this video for a recap of the party ideas we came up with for this nautical theme!

I was inspired to create this theme after viewing new nautical spreads for the summer catalog. I fell in love with the personalized anchor plaques and knew we could incorporate one into the shower decor.

I designed a new printable collection, which is available for free download here on Pottery Barn Kids. From invitations to cupcake toppers and banners, it includes everything you need to add the finishing touch to your nautical shower.

We created a full dessert table, as well as a seating table for the shoot. One of the featured recipes is for Lemon Curd Tartlets with Blueberries, created by Michele of Cakewalk Baking. These tartlets were SO delicious. I couldn’t stop eating them once we were finishing shooting. Michele also made the adorable nautical cake and cupcakes featured in the dessert display. We made Blueberry Banana Pudding Parfaits as the other featured recipe. The mini parfaits are so darling on any dessert table and these were perfect for this theme and color scheme.

We created a few craft tutorials for this nautical shower, as well. Rope-Wrapped Glass Vessels are so easy to make using inexpensive vases, rope and hot glue. Add sand and a few nautical elements like starfish to create perfect centerpieces for your sea-inspired gathering. We also show how to make a Nautical Flag Banner using our printable template.

Here are a few more photos that showcase all of the details of this Nautical Baby Shower!

Would you mind sharing the names of the vendors who did the cake and cookies?

I love everything! This is my favorite theme you’ve done so far. I especially love the life savor mints hanging off the drinks–such a sweet little detail. Way to go!

This is gorgeous! It’s a unique idea to pair yellow with navy for a nautical theme…a nice change from the typical navy and red! (And I absolutely know what you mean about lemon curd tarts, I made a raspberry lemon curd tart the other day and thought I’d never stop eating it!!)

The cake is GORGEOUS, but my favorite detail has got to be the lifesaver on the soda bottles. Also love the rope tied onto the favors. Nautical is SO fun!
