Cricut Explore Party Inspiration…

cotton candy party invitation

When I started TomKat in 2008, one of the very first parties I created designs for was Kate’s Lollipop Birthday Party. I started selling those party designs all assembled and ready to go. If you remember the invitations, I cut layers into the shape of a lollipop with a circle cutter. It was nearly impossible to get the text centered and then cut it perfectly into a circle evenly around the dotted edge, not to mention physically challenging to use the circle cutter over and over again. Well, this process has completely changed thanks to the Cricut Explore cutting machine. With the Print Then Cut feature, the printable designs print with marks that the Explore reads before cutting the printed page, therefore resulting in a precise, perfect cut every time! For Kate’s most recent party, which was cotton candy themed, I used the Explore to cut the invitations into the shape of the watercolor cotton candy illustration. Create your own cotton candy invitations here on Design Space. The possibilities are endless for creating custom cut shaped invitations and party designs with the Explore. Here are a few of my faves available on Cricut Design Space

As a cotton candy fanatic….I can’t wait to see what else you created for Kate’s latest party!! I know it will be fun and fabulous!!

I watched your video and couldn’t agree more that children’s parties should be huge celebrations….and I don’t mean the scale of the party. It could just be a parent or other family member or friend who takes the child to dinner….just make a big deal and make them feel like the most important person in the world! Of course joyous parties are always a fav for kids. I have twins and we have always gone out of our way to make each child feel especially important on “their” day. And pictures….YES, take tons! My husband has but a few from his childhood and none of his birthdays and to this day, he so wishes he had more childhood photos….

Great job Kim, as always 🙂 You are a great example of Cricut’s endless possibilities for success!!!

  2. I love that invite! Love the video too 🙂

What Cricut pens did you use in your machine to draw the cotton candy? I want to make sure that I buy the right color!!!

      Hi Kylee!
The cotton candy is a custom illustration for this invitation design, which can be made with your Cricut. It is a Print then Cut design! Here is the link in Design Space to make it: http://shrsl.com/tucy

You print on your printer, then put through your Cricut to cut! Hope this helps!
      Kim
