Laundry Room Reveal | Our New Home

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Floor & Decor. All opinions stated are my own.

Hello! Hello! You may be wondering what’s new with our latest remodel because I’ve been terrible about showing the progress as we go! It’s hard for me just to show before/during pictures without showing you the end result too! With that said, I’m finally here to give the first reveal of our new house… the laundry room! We’ve partnered with our friends at Floor & Decor to choose flooring for the main laundry room (did I mention there is a secondary laundry area in the master closet?! Oh yes… it’s a dream come true!) and after being inspired by the rooms below, I decided on the vision for the laundry room makeover.

First, let’s take a look at the laundry room “before” we started this whole house renovation. This gives you a good feel for the style of the home before we got our hands on it. While beautiful and well-built, we felt this home needed a fresh update from it’s existing “Tuscan” style.

Here are the design decisions we made for the laundry room:

  • Flooring: We decided to go with the Rock Ridge Black Natural Slate Tile from Floor & Decor. It adds a unique element to room and the herringbone pattern immediately draws your eye.
  • Cabinets: Since we didn’t replace the cabinetry in the house, we decided to have the existing cabinetry painted white to freshen up the space.
  • Cabinet Hardware: We updated the existing cabinet hardware with new, modern matte black pulls.
  • Countertops: To tie in with the dark floors, and to give this room a different look than the kitchen/bar, we went with black leathered granite countertops.
  • Open Shelving: We added white floating shelves above the sink to add a fun, decorative element to the room.
  • Sink/Faucet: I went with a large stainless steel sink and a pretty stainless faucet.

So without further ado, here is our new laundry room!

Quite the update, right?

There is so much storage in this laundry room which makes it so wonderful! The lower open cabinets provide tons of space for towels, blankets, and supplies. I had the countertops installed the full length to the tall cabinet to create a small desk area where Kate can craft! I had shelves made for the inside of the tall cabinet so that it is divided into three sections to fit all of our laundry baskets! It’s so nice to be able to close that cabinet and not see all of the dirty clothes!

Let’s talk about the floor tile! With this new house, I knew I wanted to focus on making each room feel different and custom. This black natural slate tile was just the answer to adding a pop of interest in the laundry room. It’s so unique and the texture and pattern is so eye-catching. It’s the first thing that friends comment on when walking into this area. You know I love contrast, so the black tile with white grout makes me happy! Get more details about this tile

Even though you can’t see the sink area until you actually step into the room, I absolutely love how this space turned out! I went with a stainless steel sink and faucet to contrast with the black leathered granite countertops, and added white open shelves to add some style to the space.

And let’s not forget about my recent Magnolia purchase… I’ve had my eye on this laundry sign forever and was so excited it fit perfectly on the new laundry room shelves! Okay, who am I kidding? I totally planned that. I actually bought the shelves based on where I wanted to put the sign and went from there! Ha!

I love how everything turned out and I hope you do to!
