I am so excited to share this new book with you today by Monica Pedersen, HGTV host and interior decorator. Her new book, Make It Beautiful: Designs and Ideas for Entertaining at Home is an absolutely gorgeous book filled with unique party themes, creative ideas and stunning photography. Monica is such an inspiration to me and I was thrilled to get my hands on a copy of her lovely book. The style and layout of the book is is absolute perfection and if/when I commit to working on a book, this is the epitome of the style I envision.
My favorite theme in the book is shown above, a Black & White Baby Shower. The striking black and white color combination with a sprinkle of pink is just lovely. One of my favorite things about this book is Monica’s use of flowers throughout. Simple, full arrangements that pop in the gorgeous photos.

Welcome to the neighborhood on August 18th! I thought it would be a great way to get to know the two families that moved onto our street and for our kids to play together before school starts.

Oh, I have been doing forrest animals for this year’s theme… We have completed hedgehogs (with a twist of Sonic the Hedgehog for my oldest son), squirrels, raccoons… Now we have foxes and owls coming up. (No, I did not include my husband and I, we have five kids! Hahah… ) Love this theme! So many fun ideas to choose from! Thank you for the chance to win this book! This book looks delightful! My next party will be a gender reveal party for myself. I find out what the sex of my baby is in a few weeks! My mom is helping me plan and design it, but of course the theme will be centered around boy & girl!

I love black & white with a pop of color. I style a lot of my home this way to make it easy to change the color every season. Living in New England, we get all the seasons!! The next party I am doing is going to be my son’s 2nd birthday, I am all about the nautical theme!
